High Line Park, only in New York (where else could you fit this much sexy?)

"Living in California adds ten years to a man's life. And those extra ten years I'd like to spend in New York."
Harry Ruby

The city welcomed a brand new tenant this summer, a 1.45 mile elevated park. High Line Park was formerly an elevated freight railroad spur called the West Side Line, which ran parallel to the Westside Highway from 34th Street to West 12th Street (currently the 20th street to 34th street portion has yet to be completed). The park serves as an exciting exercise in urban development and renewal. It creates an experience so refreshing and memorable that it's a definite must visit the next time you're in the city...

The Park, as with most things in the city, provides a very unique experience when toured at night as opposed to during the day (at night it's SUPER SEXY!!!). FELLAS!, High Line Park makes for the perfect end to a date (or so I've been told)

Thanks again Matt... (you really!!! need to cut this out)

"Let not the sands of time get in your lunch."
National Lampoon, "Deteriorata"

I'll admit it... I have a big EGO! I like to first to find out about the cooler things. For the second time in as many weeks, Matt O'Neill has shown me up (I'M THE COOL GUY COT DAMN IT!!!!). It's just not fair. Matt has come across the futuristically (is that a word??? ...well, it is now) eye catching Mutewatch and I think I've fallen in love this it. (Thanks a lot Matt...(sarcastic grin))

The Mutewatch is essentially a vibrating wristband with a hidden touch screen. It's goal is to "bring time and structure back to the user". It is developed by a Swedish firm, of the same name, whose aim is to create "lifestyle electronics". I must admit, I like this kind of lifestyle...

It isn't available to the market as of yet. When it is, it will be offered in three color choices red, black and white. Luckily, you are able to pre-order.

The piece captures an evolutionary attitude. In a perfect world this evolutionary attitude would have been discovered by ME. But we can all thank Matt for not allowing us to have that perfect world...

Don't Turn The Ball Over On Downs

"Food is an important part of a balanced diet."
Fran Lebowitz

The football preseason is in full swing. As the guys work hard to stay fit and make the final cut, I'm working hard to avoid ever getting a gut. Have you been working out but not seeing the results you expected? Is time in short supply for you, so you're unable to workout as much as you'd like? Some of us may need to explore our diets. The body is sacred temple and there are a lot of us who really need the pay more attention to what we allow into our sacred temples.

Determining what to eat could vary greatly depending on what your person goals are for your workout. So, with the help of my resident fitness maven John Rankin, I've compiled a short list of things to avoid or a least limit to a great extent. To avoid turning the ball over on downs, try avoiding the following as much as possible...

Sugar (1st down) - also known as sucrose, lactose, and fructose can lead to fatty deposits in the body. The way body breaks down sugar can be very counter productive to your goals.

Salt (2nd down) - also known as sodium can lead to heart issues. The heart is the most important muscle and anything that has a negative affect on it needs to be avoided. For instance, high sodium intake will affect your stamina.

Fats (3rd and Long) - especially trans fats which are also known partially hydrogenated "ANYTHING". This man made preservative is a MUST avoid. Our body are evolved enough to break this stuff (and I mean STUFF) down.

Food packages that read like paragraphs (4th down) - if the stuff on the packaging doesn't sound like it could grow in your back yard, you should probably avoid it.

It's in your best interest to avoid turning the ball over on downs (or getting sacked, fumbling the ball, throwing an interception...etc.) Stay clear of these No-No's and Just go for the end zone...
