Hákarl, Warrior Food (Viking Style)

Never walk away from home ahead of your axe and sword. You can't feel a battle in your bones or foresee a fight.
The Hávamál

Put some bass in your voice. Put some hair on your chest. Put some Hákarl on your plate. This is warrior food and it should be a rite of passage for any youngster (So... you think you're tough, huh?). Hákarl is an Icelandic delicacy. And basically... it's fermented shark. It's basking shark which has been cured by means of a particular fermentation process and hung to dry for up to five months. It IS! an acquired taste (WARRIORS ONLY!!!).

Eating hákarl is the first step in every warrior's journey to Valhalla. For the weak, hákarl may be the last step ever taken. To the victor go the spoils (spoiled shark meat that is...).
