My Friend In My Head... Anthny Bourdain.

"The world's as ugly as sin, and almost as delightful."
Frederick Locker-Lampson

I grew up as an only child. So I guess in some way, shape or form I've always had imaginary friends (they say it's healthy). Old habits are hard to kick, so my latest resident imaginary friend happens to be Anthony Bourdain. The guy's poetic, a world class chef, gets to travel all over the world and he's from the tri-state area (with the attitude and swag that goes along with that). To be honestly, I envy him.

Anthony Bourdain's show, No Reservations recently celebrated it's and Anthony's 100th episode. (SLAINTE!!! MY FRIEND) My personal top 3 favorite episodes (in rank order) would be 1) Jamaica (yes, I am biased and plus the man went to Hellshire Beach(rrrreal yard tings!!!)) 2)Beirut (it won an Emmy Award for a reason) 3)Iceland (I just love that place). Now, I'm just waiting for the Haiti episode.

Anthony is nakedly honest in his perception of life and culture. He's completely open about his past drug use and sexual references as well as profanity roll off his tongue like a bowling ball rolls down the gutter. His career as a bon viveur probably began to peak around the time of the release of his book "Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly" which was published in 2000. No Reservations followed shortly after in 2005. The guy truly has earned and deserves all the accolades he receives.

Hey Anthony, I cosign your sentiment of 100 episodes "just not being enough"...
